We had the pleasure to help this client furnish his exclusive duplex apartment towering right in front of the center of the Victoria harbour. For three times in the span of 8 years, he came to us with precise but simple briefs. Armed with his trust, with his expansive space lining with colourful contemporary paintings as the backdrop, we created furniture solutions adapted from our standard designs or conceived from original ideas, all with simple lines. It showed domestic living needs can be fulfilled in veil, and in style.

有机会为这顾客矗立在维多利亚港正前方的复式住宅单位提供装潢建议与订制家具实在令我们兴奋。在八年间，他前后三次联系我们；每次的要求都简单而明确。得到他的信赖，我们就以他明亮宽阔的空间与色彩丰富的当代画作为背景，创造出不同种类的家具。部分是从我们标准款式演变的，部分是全新构想的；全都是线条简单利落。在在都显示起居生活的特殊需要可以在不知不觉间有格调地实现。

Taking centre stage in the living space is a large square coffee table. Who would have imagined it doubles up as a casual dining table for the two young children of the client, which can be adjusted in height? Our SL 5A rattan stools are perfect both materially and functionally for them to sit on. When they grow up, the coffee table can reclaim its normality, when its base is removed to become an interesting piece of authentic wood work for display on the wall.
On the side are two very tall bookshelves placed in an “L” shape to create a symbolic library space that, ideally, can also act as a soft delimiter between the living and children playing space.

摆放在客厅正中央的是一张方形大咖啡台。谁会想到这同时是特别为顾客的两个小孩而设的可调节高度餐桌？我们标准的 SL 5A 藤席凳子刚好合用，无论物料与功能上都异常适合。当他们长大后，独立的底座就可以移除，那时咖啡台就可以恢复它正常的功能。而那用实木细心打造的底座就变为挂在墙上独一无二的艺术摆设。
在客厅旁置有一对很高的书架。两个书架程 90 度摆放以营造一点图书馆的气氛，同时也含蓄地区分小孩的玩耍区与客厅主区。

Casual dining is now addressed, what about all the toys lying around? How can these be stored away easily and discreetly? Two sizes of highly polished spray paint chests were specifically designed for this purpose, rhyming with the character and color palette of the space. The big one is even equipped with an inconspicuous lock, placed beside a small desk we custom designed for the children.

简便用餐的要求解决了，但怎样处理四周的玩具？可否很容易地把它们隐藏？我们便因应空间的色调与性格而设计了两种尺码的亮光颜色漆箱子。体积大一点的还设有隐藏的锁，后方就是我们为小孩而特别设计的小书桌。

Let us move to the side television and study space, entrance and the dining space. The aim of the owner is to have storage cabinets that are subtle and high quality. A desk, our standard TA 62 in light shade, and a small bespoke printer cupboard, form the ensemble to enable work-from-home with a chic.

让我们移向旁边的电视与工作区，玄关，最后是餐厅。顾客希望有几个储物的柜子，理想是安静而高品质的。在电视柜旁放置一张我们的标准款式斜脚写字台 - TA 62，还有一个特别设计的打印机小柜，让他可以优雅地在家工作。

The most interesting piece of all is a bunk bed. Can we design a bed for his two sons’ current use, which is equally apt to be used in the future in the guest bedroom? It must be sturdy enough for adults, and with structure and quality that lasts even moved across different countries many times. What we created is a solid wood bed that is deceptively simple in form, but with the most thoughtful interlocking joinery mechanism. Its components are of sizes that can easily be transported within an apartment building. It may be the only bunk bed on earth that is not assembled by screws and metal connection parts - a feature those informed will know the importance.
Together with this we also have designed two small desks for his sons, which in the future can be placed together to form a long and characterful compound side table. One of those is placed on one side of the living space.

在众多家具中最有趣的一定是双层床了。我们可否为顾客的两个儿子而特别设计，将来他们长大后也可以放在客房让到访的客人使用？其强度要足够承受成年人的体重与身高；并且有良好的结构与品质，即使他们在不同国家间多次移居也不会减低。我们设计了一张看似简单的实木大床；隐藏的是异常精密，互相紧扣的立体榫卯结构。床的部件体积容许在一般多层大廈内妥善搬运。这可能是地球上唯一不使用螺丝与金属连结部件的双层床 - 了解物料与工程的朋友就明白其重要性。
除此之外我们也为顾客孩子一并设计了两张小书桌，其中一张是放在客厅一旁的。将来需求改变时，可以把书桌并在一起变为一张有独特性格的组合边台。

It is a genuine regret if one only dwells on the external appearance of a piece of furniture, same as for anything else. Without a comprehensive structure, its look and integrity may only last until your next move, if not sooner. Try to appreciate the inner beauty of what we create.

若只注重一件家具或任何其它东西的外观实在非常可惜。没有慎重的结构，其外观与体格可能在下次搬运后或更早就面目全非。齐来欣赏我们的制造的内在美。
